NXT TakeOver: In Your House Results (2020)

Mia Yim, Shotzi Blackheart & Tegan Nox vs. Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez

Yim and LeRae were the first in, though LeRae tagged out before the two even touched. Reina Gonzalez was in next. Shotzi Blackheart did a dive to the floor but Gonzalez caught and ragdoll’d her. Yim followed up with a dive, then LeRae did a springboard plancha. Nox did a somersault senton from the top onto all wrestlers. Kai, and later Gonzalez, worked over Blackheart back in the ring.

Blackheart finally tagged out to Yim. Yim pinned LeRae with a bridging dragon suplex for two. LeRae responded with a release German suplex and the two were out for a few moments. After Gonzalez used a falling power bomb on Nox, LeRae and Yim ended up brawling on the floor and into the backstage area. This allowed Blackheart and Nox to take out Gonzalez; Nox then pinned Kai clean with the Shiniest Wizard.

Winners: Mia Yim, Shotzi Blackheart & Tegan Nox

Thoughts: This was a fun match, lots of great interactions and spots between the ladies. Action was fast paced and they managed to intertwine several feuds into the match pace. Nox finally got revenge on Kai, so let’s see where this is heading.

Rating: 3

Candace LeRae came out to distract Lee, but Mia Yim followed her out. When those two started fighting, Gargano gouged Lee’s eyes again with keys. He wasn’t successful, however, and Lee ended him with the Big Bang Catastrophy.

Scarlett was with Karrion Kross for his katch. Kross ran through Ciampa and made him pass out in the Kross Jacket.

NXT Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Io Shirai vs. Rhea Ripley

Flair bailed from the ring immediately and told Ripley and Shirai to go at it. Flair still wasted no time getting back in the mix and eventually locked up Shirai in a high-angle Boston crab, but Ripley ran in for the save, destroying Flair with some huge strikes. The match continued along at a perfect pace, with each woman getting in high-impact offense without any lulls in the action. Flair locked Shirai in the Figure-Eight but was pulled from the ring by Ripley and the two brawled on the outside of the ring before Shirai hit a big dive on Ripley.

Things broke down into a brawl around the set, with Flair throwing Shirai through one of the set pieces. As Flair and Ripley brawled, Shirai dove off the house at the front of the set and hit both women with a huge cross body. Ripley nailed Flair with Riptide off the second rope but Shirai broke up the pin. Shirai and Ripley battled, but as Ripley had Shirai locked in the Prism Trap, Flair entered the ring with a kendo stick and began laying waste to both. After assaulting Ripley with the cane, Flair locked Ripley in the Figure-Eight but Shirai came off the top rope with a moonsault onto Ripley and scored the pin as Flair tried to untangle her legs from Ripley’s.

Winner: Io Shirai (NEW CHAMPION)

Thoughts: What an amazing match, and the women finally got to main event again! They brought out their best game for this important match. Flair looked like a champion she was, Ripley got her intensity back and Shirai proved once again why she’s one of the best in the world. It’s interesting that Charlotte didn’t take the direct loss, so I’m waiting to see whether she will face Shirai in a possible rematch.
