Today In History: Trish Stratus vs. Nidia In A Women’s Title Match (July 5, 2004)

On this day in history, 16 years ago, Nidia earned herself a Women’s Championship match. She faced Molly Holly and Victoria in a Triple Threat Contract on a Pole match. The Women’s Champion Trish Stratus joined the commentary to insult the competitors. In the end, Nidia managed to grab the contract and earned the right to challenge Stratus for the title. However, Stratus came down to the ring and demanded to defend her title immediately. The confused Nidia looked on as Stratus hit her with the cast on her hand. Stratus called for the referee and earned herself an easy victory. To this day, this is the shortest Women’s title match in WWE history.
